"United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland" is the official name that includes the countries of the island of Great Britain (England, Wales and Scotland) and the part of Northern Ireland that is politically part of it, while the rest of the island became independent in 1922.

Of England (a term that is often incorrectly used to indicate the entire island of Great Britain) is famous above all London, one of the capitals of the world, multicultural like its inhabitants, with places like Trafalgar Square, halfway between the historical testimony and the future and icons such as Big Ben or Buckingham Palace, the official residence of Queen Elizabeth II.

However, England also offers other destinations of interest, such as the charming city of Brighton, on the south coast, famous for its beaches and entertainment; Dover, in the county of Kent; where to admire the well-known white cliffs, the famous and mysterious archaeological site of Stonehenge; Bath's spas and postcard Georgian architecture, and vibrant modern cities like Manchester and Birmigham. Not to mention world-class university centers such as Oxford and Cambridge.

Moving further north, we find Wales, one of the main industrial poles of the country but also a lively region characterized by wild nature. Its capital, Cardiff, will amaze you with the beauty of its buildings, especially its castle, and its liveliness.

Climbing a little further, we reach the rugged coasts and the mountainous landscape of Scotland, an ideal destination for summer trekking as well as to admire the beauty of Edinburgh and its fervent cultural life. And if you want an even wilder landscape, you can head to the Highland region and take a ferry to the Scottish Isles, Shetland, Orkney or Hebrides.
